Description
This Patch is now obsolete. It has been superceded by the ArcGIS 9.0 Service Pack 2.
Introduction
ESRIĀ® announces the ArcGIS Desktop 9.0 Spatial Statistics Geoprocessing Toolbox Patch. This Patch contains performance improvements for Cluster and Outlier Analysis, Hot Spot Analysis, Spatial Autocorrelation, High/Low Clustering, and Collect Events. It deals specifically with the issue listed below under Issues Addressed with this Patch.
We recommend that all ArcGIS 9.0 customers download and install this patch at their earliest convenience to ensure the highest quality experience when working with ArcGIS Desktop 9.0.
Issues Addressed with this Patch
- CQ00240195 - The CollectEvents tool only works with shapefile input. When the input feature class is a personal Geodatabase, for example, this tool fails with schema locking issues.
CQ00235753 - The results for the Hot Spot Analysis and Cluster and Outlier Analysis tools may be incorrect, especially when using a selection set. The incorrect results are caused by: (1) inaccurrate math for Cluster and Outlier variance calculation and/or (2) results are shuffled: they do not match up to the correct input feature. In both cases, the results are not reliable. To fix the "shuffle" problem (#2 above) for use with optional spatial weights matrix files, we had to modify how these files are read. Consequently, this fix also impacts the Spatial Autocorrelation and the High/Low Clustering tools (since these also may be used with a weights file).
