ArcGIS 10.4 for Server for Microsoft Azure™ Patch
Esri® announces the ArcGIS 10.4 for Server for Microsoft Azure™ Patch. This patch addresses the discrepancy between the MSI version and executable version of the software. It deals specifically with the issue listed below under Issues Addressed with this patch.
Issues Addressed with this patch
- BUG-000096143 - Installing ArcGIS 10.4 for Desktop or an ArcGIS 10.4 for Server patch will fail on a deployed instance of ArcGIS 10.4 for Server on Microsoft Azure™.
Installing this patch on Windows
ArcGIS Data Store, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS for Server, and ArcGIS Web Adaptor for IIS on Microsoft Azure™ must be installed before installing this patch.
- Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.

- Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location.
- Double-click ArcGIS-104-<Product>-Azure-Patch.msp to start the setup process.
NOTE: If double clicking on the MSP file does not start the setup installation, you can start the setup installation manually by using the following command:
msiexec.exe /p [location of Patch]\ArcGIS-104-<Product>-Azure-Patch.msp
If you encounter this error, "Error 1920. Service Portal for ArcGIS (Portal for ArcGIS) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.", when installing the Portal for ArcGIS patch (ArcGIS-104-PFA-MA-Patch.msp), please change the "Portal for ArcGIS" windows service account to run as "Local System" and re-run the patch installer."

How to identify which ArcGIS products are installed
To determine which ArcGIS products are installed, choose the appropriate version of the PatchFinder utility for your environment and run it from your local machine. PatchFinder will list all products, hot fixes, and patches installed on your local machine.
