Summary

This patch addresses issues encountered when a WMS Service Layer fails to draw when connected to a WMS Server using 1.1.1 or 1.1.0 version.

Description

EsriĀ® announces the ArcGIS 10.2 (Desktop, Engine, Server) WMS Service Layer Backward Compatibility Patch. This patch addresses issues encountered when a WMS Service Layer fails to draw when connected to a WMS Server using 1.1.1 or 1.1.0 version. This causes both ArcMap on Desktop and a printing service on ArcGIS Server not to draw the layer. It deals specifically with the issues listed below under Issues Addressed with this Patch.

 

Issues Addressed with this Patch

  • NIM093005 - WMS Service Layer fails to draw from a connected WMS Server with version 1.1.0 or version 1.1.1.

Under the Windows <ArcGIS Installation>\bin folder:
  • OGCClient.dll
Under the Linux <ArcGIS Installation>/bin folder:
  • libogcclient.so
    ogcclient.rsb

Installing this patch on Windows

Installation Notes:

System Administrators: A technical paper is available that discusses the enterprise deployment of ArcGIS 10.2 setups using Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS), System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), and Group Policy, including additional system requirements, suggestions, known issues, and Microsoft Software Installation (MSI) command line parameters. Deployment in a lockdown environment is also covered. ArcGIS 10.2 Enterprise Deployment.

Installation Steps:

Complete the following install steps as the ArcGIS Install owner. The Install owner is the owner of the arcgis folder.

ArcGIS 10.2 for Desktop, Engine, or Server must be installed before installing this patch.

  1. Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.

  2. Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location.
  3. Double-click ArcGIS-102-<Product>-WSLBC-Patch.msp to start the setup process.

    NOTE: If double clicking on the MSP file does not start the setup installation, you can start the setup installation manually by using the following command:

    msiexec.exe /p [location of Patch]\ArcGIS-102-<Product>-WSLBC-Patch.msp

Installing this patch on Linux

  2. Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location, and that no one is using ArcGIS.
  3. Extract the specified tar file by typing:

    % tar -xvf ArcGIS-102-<Product>-WSLBC-Patch-<Platform>.tar
  4. Start the installation by typing:

    % ./applypatch

    This will start the dialog for the menu-driven installation procedure. Default selections are noted in parentheses ( ). To quit the installation procedure, type 'q' at any time.
