Esri® announces the ArcGIS 10.0 SP3 (Desktop, Engine, Server) COLLADA Compliance Patch. This patch addresses minor non-compliance issues for the import and export of COLLADA files with ArcGIS. It deals specifically with the issues listed below under Issues Addressed with this Patch.
Issues Addressed with this Patch
- NIM073202 - Importing COLLADA files that contain mipfilter tags can fail.
- Description: The COLLADA specification allows for the definition of mipfilter tags, and importing DAE files containing these tags into ArcGIS was not working properly. Esri CityEngine is an example of an application that includes mipfilter tags when it exports features out to COLLADA.

Installation Steps:
ArcGIS 10 Service Pack 3 Desktop, Engine, or Server must be installed before you can install this patch.- Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.
ArcGIS Desktop Gis10sp3-DT-CC-Patch.msp ArcGIS Engine Gis10sp3-E-CC-Patch.msp ArcGIS Server - Gis Services Gis10sp3-SGIS-CC-Patch.msp ArcGIS Server Java Gis10sp3-SJ-CC-Patch.msp - Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location.
- For ArcGIS Server for the Microsoft .NET Framework Only: Open the Services Management Console> Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services. Stop the ArcGIS Server Object Manager and ArcGIS Server SOC Monitor services.
- For ArcGIS Server Java Only: Open the Services Management Console> Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services. Stop the ArcGIS Server Object Manager; ArcGIS Server SOC Monitor and ArcGIS Server Manager services.
- Double-click Gis10sp3-<Product>-CC-Patch.msp to start the install process.
NOTE: If double clicking on the MSP file does not start the Patch installation, you can start the Patch installation manually by using the following command:
msiexec.exe /p [location of Patch]\Gis10sp3-<Product>-CC-Patch.msp
- When Setup starts, follow the instructions on your screen. At the end of the installation, follow the instructions to run the GIS Server Post Install.
- For ArcGIS Server for the Microsoft .NET Framework Only: Open the Services Management Console> Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services. Start the ArcGIS Server Object Manager and ArcGIS Server SOC Monitor services.
- For ArcGIS Server Java Only: Open the Services Management Console> Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services. Start the ArcGIS Server Object Manager; ArcGIS Server SOC Monitor and ArcGIS Server Manager services.
Installing this Patch on Linux and Solaris
Complete the following install steps as the ArcGIS Install owner. The Install owner is the owner of the arcgis folder.
ArcGIS 10.0 Service Pack 3 Engine or Server must be installed before you can install this Patch.
- Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.
ArcGIS Engine for Linux Gis10sp3-E-CC-Patch-linux.tar ArcGIS Engine for Solaris Gis10sp3-E-CC-Patch-slrs.tar ArcGIS Server for Linux Gis10sp3-S-CC-Patch-linux.tar ArcGIS Server for Solaris Gis10sp3-S-CC-Patch-slrs.tar
- Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location, and that no one is using ArcGIS.
- For ArcGIS Server only: stop the ArcGIS server by typing:
% arcgis/scripts/stopserver
- Extract the specified tar file by typing:
% tar -xvf Gis10sp3-<Product>-CC-Patch-<Platform>.tar
- Start the installation by typing:
% ./applypatch
This will start the dialog for the menu-driven installation procedure. Default selections are noted in parentheses ( ). To quit the installation procedure, type 'q' at any time. - For ArcGIS Server only: start the ArcGIS Server by typing:
% arcgis/scripts/startserver
