PROBLEM
Windows 2003 and XP users cannot add additional Server Object Container machines to a ArcGIS Server 9.2 machine
Description
Windows 2003 and XP users cannot add additional Server Object Container (SOC) machines to their ArcGIS Server 9.2 machine.
Cause
The Windows Firewall is enabled on the ArcGIS Server machine or on the additional host machine.
Solution or Workaround
Disable the Windows Firewall on both the ArcGIS Server machine and the additional SOC machine by utilizing the procedure below.- Access the Windows Control Panel.
- Open Windows Firewall.
- Disable the Windows Firewall.
- Repeat the procedure to add an additional SOC machine again.
