Why should I upgrade to SAP HANA 2.0 SPS 08 (revision 81) for editing branch versioned data?

An application lock is a form of database lock designed to prevent concurrent access to shared resources, thereby minimizing the risk of data inconsistencies when performing editing. This lock type plays a role in managing resources when editing branch versioned data, ensuring data integrity across concurrent editing sessions.

In the context of SAP HANA databases, support for application locking was introduced starting with version 2.0 SPS 08 (revision 81), and the feature is already available in SAP HANA Cloud. For enterprise geodatabases on SAP HANA, the application locking feature became available in the following release versions:

• ArcGIS Server 10.9.1 General Branch Versioning Reconcile Patch
• ArcGIS Server 10.9.1 Utility Network and Data Management Patch 8
