Why is a second ObjectID field added to a table exported from a OLE DB source to a Geodatabase?

Answer

If the OLE DB table being exported to a Geodatabase already contains an ObjectID field (data type long integer), this will be renamed to ObjectID_1 and a new ObjectID field created (ESRI data type ObjectID). This is to ensure that the new table is registered with the Geodatabase.
