Why does the Show Related Records button in ArcGIS Online display incorrect records when a filter is applied?

When a related table is filtered in ArcGIS Online and Collector for ArcGIS, the operation is not honored by the Show Related Records button on a pop-up. While the table honors the attribute filter, upon clicking 'Show Related Records' from a pop-up, all records show regardless of the set filter.

The pop-up window of ArcGIS Online displays pop-ups based on the relationship cardinality established in ArcGIS for Desktop. This functionality is designed to pass a related records query based upon the Feature or Object ID number, and are not configured to read from any filters set on a table. This is to ensure the desired records are not neglected on the feature specific level, which causes obscurity. The filter configuration is only designed to be applied to a single table when opened in a viewer or individually.
