Frequently asked question

Why does ArcMap display my TIFF raster file inverted, like a photographic film negative?

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Answer

A TIFF image may display as a film negative if it is a 4 band CMYK format TIFF. ArcMap does not currently support this type of TIFF image.

To display the image correctly, use a third party image editing application, such as Adobe Photoshop, to convert it to an 3 band/RGB format TIFF.
