Frequently asked question

Why do route coverages edited in ArcMap contain additional sections after saving edits?

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Answer

When a coverage route is edited, it is turned into a polyline with measures. Saving the edits will turn the polylines back into arcs and sections. When sections are created, they are broken where a constant length/measure ratio is not preserved.
