Why are the merge policies not enforced when two features are merged in a geodatabase?
Answer
Merge policies are stored in the geodatabase, but are not automatically executed when features are merged. If the merge policies need to be respected, write a custom merge command to read these policies from the database and to execute them.See the developer sample in the ArcGIS Developer help, it explains how to write a merge command that executes merge policies.
