Frequently asked question

Which version of Crystal Reports ships with 9.1?

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Answer

Crystal Reports XI ships with ArcGIS 9.1. This version is built on the .NET framework but it still supports ActiveX/COM. There has been no functionality that has been removed.

The ESRI OEM version is the same as the Business Objects Crystal Reports Developer edition without the competitive mapping components.

ESRI doesn't have any direct support for Crystal Reports in ArcObjects; the Crystal components that are exposed are installed when Crystal Reports is installed. For VBA/VB6, users can reference several Crystal Reports libraries; in the references dialog, they all begin with 'Crystal' and COM components have 'ActiveX' somewhere in the description.

If projects reference previous Crystal library versions, they may need to rereference the version 11 libraries. Get developer help by looking at the CrystalDevHelp.chm file, which located in:
