ERROR

When synchronizing changes, a fatal error may occur if topology exceptions are within dirty areas that are no longer valid

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Error Message

**This issue has been resolved in ArcGIS (Desktop, Engine, Server) 9.3.1 Geodatabase Replica Synchronization Patch.**

Exceptions are sent when synchronizing changes for a replica that includes topology data. This includes exceptions from dirty areas that may no longer be valid.

Cause

In some cases, synchronizing these invalid exceptions can cause the application to fail.

Solution or Workaround

Make sure to validate dirty areas for the data involved in the replica in the source geodatabase before synchronizing changes. This removes the invalid exceptions and prevents a possible fatal error.
