What is the maximum number of nodes in a TIN for ArcGIS Desktop?

Answer

The TIN size limit is roughly 15-20 million nodes in ArcGIS Desktop. Larger TIN files cannot be created or used within ArcGIS Desktop.

This is because ArcGIS Desktop uses the Operating System's memory management system which sets a 2GB per process limit for Windows applications.
