Frequently asked question

What ArcGIS applications are moving to .NET 10 in Q2 2026?

Last Published: March 16, 2026

Microsoft .NET 10 is the latest Long-Term Support (LTS) release of .NET. ArcGIS software versions released in Q2 2026 require .NET 10 to be installed as a prerequisite to installing the software. The following desktop applications require .NET Desktop Runtime 10.x (64-bit):

  • ArcGIS AllSource 1.6
  • ArcGIS Drone2Map 2026.1
  • ArcGIS Pro 3.7
  • ArcGIS Reality Studio 2026.1

ArcGIS Enterprise 12.1 requires .NET 10 for both the ArcGIS Web Adaptor (IIS) and ArcGIS Server .NET Extension Support feature, which is leveraged by the ArcGIS Enterprise SDK for .NET-based server object extensions (SOEs) and server object interceptors (SOIs).

  • ArcGIS Web Adaptor (IIS) requires ASP.NET Core Runtime 10.x (64-bit)
  • ArcGIS Server .NET Extension Support requires either .NET Desktop Runtime 10.x (64-bit) or .NET SDK 10.x (64-bit) prior to installing ArcGIS Server.

In addition, the ArcGIS Web Adaptor (IIS) 11.5, 11.3, and 11.1 will also be certified for use with .NET 10. For more information on this, see the Esri Knowledge Base article: FAQ: Is ArcGIS Enterprise Web Adaptor (IIS) Supported on .NET 10?

Refer to the system requirements documentation for each application for the specific .NET requirement and download .NET 10 from Microsoft’s official site.
