The ArcGIS Advanced Editing user type extension was introduced with ArcGIS Enterprise 11.2. For branch versioned data, it is required for many Version Management Service REST API operations when working with web feature layers that are from feature services with the version management capability enabled. When working with web feature layers, this requirement also impacts workflows in ArcGIS Pro.
Starting at ArcGIS Enterprise 12.0, licensing changes were made to no longer require the ArcGIS Advanced Editing user type extension for the following:
