Using Safari versions prior to 10.0.2 to run ArcGIS for JavaScript API apps that require WebGL may result in a black or green screen

Description

Running any Esri or custom app built with the ArcGIS API for JavaScript version 4.x may render a black or green screen on an Apple Safari browser. This includes Scene Viewer, Web AppBuilder, 3D Templates, GeoPlanner, and potentially others.

Cause

This problem is due to an issue in the WebGL (Web Graphics Library) implementation of the Apple Safari browser.

Solution or Workaround

If this issue occurs, check the version of Safari. If the version of the browser is not 10.0.2 or later, upgrade the browser. If upgrading is not an option, use a different browser as a workaround.
