Use the mouse scroll zoom in/out functionality in ArcReader

Summary

ArcReader requires the user to set the focus in the map prior to using the mouse scroll to zoom in and out. There are different techniques possible to set the focus in the map when using various tools such as Zoom In, Zoom Out, Continuous Zoom/Pan, and Pan.

Procedure

Before zooming in and out with the mouse scroll, the user must set the focus on the map.

Set the focus using Continuous Zoom/Pan
• Left-click on the map to set the focus and then, use the mouse scroll to zoom in and out, or
• Click and hold down the left mouse button. While doing so, zoom in and out using the mouse scroll, or
• Click and hold down the right mouse button. While doing so, zoom in and out using the mouse scroll.

Set the focus using Pan, Zoom In or Zoom Out

• Right-click on the map to set the focus and then, use the mouse scroll to zoom in and out, or
• Click and hold down the left mouse button. While doing so, zoom in and out using the mouse scroll, or
• Click and hold down the right mouse button. While doing so, zoom in and out using the mouse scroll.
