Use Secure Services with basic authentication in ArcGIS Excalibur

Summary

This article describes how to use secure web services in ArcGIS Excalibur. Services from a stand-alone (unfederated) ArcGIS Server or OGC services may be secure, requiring basic authentication to access. To allow ArcGIS Excalibur to access these services, the server must be added to the trusted server list and must support Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS). To use secure services with basic authentication in Excalibur, follow the steps below.

Procedure

Steps to use Basic Authentication Secure Services in ArcGIS Excalibur:

  1.  Using an Administrator account, log in to the Portal that hosts ArcGIS Excalibur.
  2. Navigate to Organization > Settings > Security.
  3. In the Trusted Servers section, add the server hosting the secure service. This must be completed for each server where the desired services exist.
  4. Once complete, launch ArcGIS Excalibur.
  5. Navigate to Connect To: An Imagery Web Service and add the secure service URL.
  6. When prompted, enter in your basic authentication username and password.
