ArcGIS Pro now provides support for offline workflows using the full analytic capabilities of the utility network. Beginning with ArcGIS Pro 3.3, Download Map can be configured to take a utility network offline into a mobile geodatabase from a utility network feature service to perform analytic workflows.
The Download Map button in ArcGIS Pro, shown in the next image, enables taking web layers offline for editing while in a disconnected environment. This is supported for all feature layers configured for sync and editing.
By default, when a utility network is present in the active map, Download Map takes simple data that participates with the utility network offline and swizzles the connection to a local mobile geodatabase where it can be edited and synced back to the service once edits are complete. After syncing and removing the reference to the local geodatabase, data sources are swizzled back to reference the utility network feature service where you can review edits and validate any dirty areas.
Notably, in this scenario, the utility network itself is not taken offline, but instead remains pointed to the feature service. This means that while you can edit simple data that participates with the network, operations that rely on the network topology such as trace, or working with associations, are not supported.
With ArcGIS Pro 3.3, a new capability can be configured for Download Map which allows you alter the default behavior of this command when working with a utility network. This allows you to download the full extent, or a subset of your network to take the full utility network offline to perform tracing, generate diagrams, work with associations, etc.
Note: It is important to understand that while offline functionality for the utility network is enabled, the default behavior which enables synchronization of simple feature edits back to the feature service is disabled.
To support the download of the full utility network model, the following requirements must be met:
