HOW TO
After editing an address locator, the locator must be rebuilt to apply the changes and keep the locator updated. However, the primary table path name cannot be changed directly once the locator is created unless there is a message asking the user to repair the locator while rebuilding.
After copying an existing locator, the primary table path name can be changed to a different location without having to re-create the locator to save time. Some users do not prefer re-creating the locators especially when using alias tables as it may invariably map the wrong fields.
The instructions provided describe how to update the primary table path name of an address locator without re-creating or rebuilding the locator.
Note: To check if the primary table path name is updated, open the Address Locator Properties dialog box and expand the Reference data tables section.
