Uninstall an extension to ArcGIS Desktop

Summary

Note:
This article applies to ArcGIS versions 9.3 through 10.1. Later versions of ArcGIS may contain different functionality, as well as different names and locations for menus, commands and geoprocessing tools.
Instructions provided describe how to uninstall an extension to the ArcGIS Desktop software without uninstalling the entire software package.
Note:
Some extensions, such as the Data Interoperability and Business Analyst extensions, are separate installations.  These extensions will be listed individually in the Control Panel > Programs list and are not applicable to this article.

Procedure

 
  1. Navigate to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.
  2. Highlight ArcGIS Desktop.
  3. Click Change.
  4. Click Add/Remove in the Installer window.
  5. Expand Extensions.
  6. Select and expand the menu for the extension to be uninstalled.
  7. Select X Entire feature will be unavailable.
  8. Click Next, and click Finish.
