Unable to store the geocoding service. Cannot open reference data file

Error Message

While creating a StreetMap geocoding service in ArcCatalog, after clicking OK in the New Geocoding Service dialog, the following error may occur:

"Unable to store the geocoding service. Cannot open reference data file."

Cause

The StreetMap USA geocoding service does not use a StreetMap USA .edg file for the reference data.

Solution or Workaround



Set the reference data to the appropriate .edg file in the Create New Geocoding Service dialog.
