Error Message

When a user is invited into ArcGIS Online via SAML logins, they are able to join the ArcGIS Online Organization, but are unable to sign in to ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Pro and receive the following error:

"Unable to sign in, logins are by invitation only, Please contact the administrator of this web site to access the site"

Cause

The cause of the issue is that when the user is invited via SAML in ArcGIS Online, the email is entered with incorrect case characters. The email and user name must match the input within the organization's Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS).

Solution or Workaround

1. Run a SAML tracer as described in the blog Using SAML tracer to capture SAML based network traffic to confirm the issue.
2. Delete the user from the ArcGIS Online Organization, and re-invite them with the correct naming conventions.
