PROBLEM

Unable to register tables with a geodatabase

Last Published: April 26, 2020

Description

Users are unable to register a table in a feature class with a geodatabase.

Cause

This occurs when the table has multiple incrementing columns including an ObjectID column.

The ObjectID column, which is an incrementing column, is already created by ArcGIS when a feature class is registered in a geodatabase. A geodatabase requires the ObjectID field to be the incrementing field to allow the table to be registered.

Note:
The existence of multiple incrementing columns requires customization, as the delta tables must be synchronized.

Solution or Workaround

Select the ObjectID column to allow the table to be registered with a geodatabase. For more information, refer to the following ArcGIS Help documentation, Workflow: Creating tables with SQL and registering them with the geodatabase.
