Error Message

Creating a reject shapefile, like this:

shp2sde -o create -l inc_83892,shape -f width20 -g 0.25 -a all -i sde_won8 -u sde -p xxx -r rjct

Produces this error message:

Cause

The shapefile has a numeric attribute field with a width of 20 or greater.

This is a known issue.

Solution

Change the shapefile's numeric field width to 19.
