Unable to change capitalization when editing fields in ArcGIS Pro

Description

When changing field names in ArcGIS Pro, the changes are not saved if capitalization is the only change made.

EXAMPLE:

Initial field name: fieldone
Desired field name: FieldOne

Cause

A geodatabase does not recognize the difference between case type. Although there is a difference between 'FeatureLayer' and 'FEATURELAYER', it is read the same way in the table.

Solution or Workaround

1. In the Fields View in ArcGIS Pro, change the field name from 'fieldone' to 'Field_One'
2. Save the changes
3. Change the field to 'FieldOne'
4. Save the changes
