Type 2 error

Error Message

ArcView does not run on a Mac G3 running OS 8.1, even when no other programs are installed. ArcView installed without problem, but when it is initialized, a type 2 error message occurs. ArcView runs successfully on non-G3 machines running 8.1.


It appears to be a hard drive partition issue.


Try partitioning the hard drive into two separate, equal-size drives. Keep the system on one drive and install ArcView on the other.
This may not work in all situations.
