PROBLEM

The raster default stretch type is set to none

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Description

The raster default stretch type is set to none.

Cause

The default stretch type is 2 Standard Deviations. There are two cases where the default stretch type is set to none:

- If the raster is a MrSID format.
- If the raster does not have statistics calculated.

Once the raster is corrected, statistics for the output are automatically calculated for it by default.

Solution or Workaround

There are two possible workarounds to this issue:

  • Change the symbology, create a .lyr file, and use the .lyr file to add the raster.
  • Delete the .aux file for the output raster and never calculate statistics for it.
