PROBLEM
The raster dataset does not read the georeferencing information in ArcGIS
Description
If a raster dataset has the spatial reference set in ArcGIS 9.1 and is viewed in ArcGIS 9.2 or a later version, the spatial reference may not be read properly.
Cause
This only happens if the raster dataset has been opened in ArcGIS 9.2 or a later version (creating an aux.xml file) prior to setting the spatial reference in ArcGIS 9.1. The georeferencing information can be read properly in ArcGIS 9.1, but does not read properly in ArcGIS 9.2 or later.
Solution or Workaround
Delete the aux.xml file; the georeferencing information displays properly in ArcGIS 9.2 or the later version.Article ID: 000008470
