ERROR

Spatial reference does not match map's

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Error Message

When running a Geoprocessing Task in the Web Mapping Application, the following error message is displayed in the Results panel:

"Spatial reference does not match map's"

Cause

The Geoprocessing Task is attempting to output data into a spatial reference that is different than the map's spatial reference.

Solution or Workaround

If the geoprocessing service is set to output data, the data must be output to a spatial reference that matches the spatial reference of the map in the Web Mapping Application.

There are two ways to accommodate this requirement of the ArcGIS Server Web Mapping Application:

  • Set the Geoprocessing Task output to have its 'Output Spatial Reference' set to 'Same as Input'.

  • Ensure the map resource that is displayed in the map has the same spatial reference as the output from the Geoprocessing Task.
