Sometimes features from ArcIMS services do not get drawn or cannot be queried

Previewing, drawing, or querying features may unpredictably stop working.


The service uses data that is stored in ArcSDE. If the data was loaded into ArcSDE using the command line instead of ArcCatalog, the resulting layers may not have been correctly registered in the database. These layers do not have the ROWID or the OBJECTID columns.

Solution or Workaround

Register the ArcSDE layer:

sdetable -o register -c objectid -C ArcSDE -u username -p password -t tablename
