Problem: Software Authorization Wizard Fonts in Arabic or Asian Locales Do Not Display as

Description

When running the ArcGIS for Server Software Authorization Wizard on RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), some glyphs in the dialog fonts display as squares in certain locales.

This problem is only seen in the Software Authorization Wizard dialog. For example:

Cause

This problem involves a font-substituting mechanism in dialogs. There is a notable lack of suitable replacement TrueType fonts for the Asian and Arabic locales.

Solution or Workaround

To improve the appearance of Asian or Arabic TrueType fonts, it is recommended that users install the 'msttcorefonts' package, available from SourceForge.net.

Ask the system administrator or, as root, download and install 'msttcorefonts' on the local RedHat Linux Server (RHLS) machine.

Download the 'msttcorefonts rpm' installer.
