Server disappears in the Add Image Server Connection dialogue

Description

Windows Security Update patch KB982802 causes the ArcGIS Image Server Client for 9.2 to no longer recognize the 9.3 server. The patch must be removed for the server to be recognized.

Cause

A Windows update with the KB982802 patch disables the Image Server client's ability to see the 9.3 server among the available servers.

Solution or Workaround

1. Navigate to the Control Panel.
2. Select Add/Remove Programs.
3. Highlight the Windows update with the KB982802 patch.
4. Click Add/Remove Windows Components, and remove the patch.
