Error Message

The following error message is displayed when using Coverage to Geodatabase:

Run-time error "-2147467259 (80004005) 
Automation error 
Unspecified error" 

This was due to a corrupt coverage.

Cause

This is a known issue, CQ00073588.

This can occur with a corrupt coverage in ArcMap 8.3.

Solution or Workaround

1. Start ArcToolbox and navigate to Conversion Tools > Export From Coverage > Export To Interchange File to export the coverage as an .E00 file.
2. Navigate to Conversion Tools > Import to Coverage > Import from Interchange File to import the .E00 file to coverage format.
