Error: REGISTERDBMS on Solaris Fails with ld.so.1...No Such File or Database

Error Message

Attempting to execute CREATESYSTABLES or REGISTERDBMS to an Oracle database on Solaris fails with the error:

"ld.so.1: /arcexe83/bin/asdbi_oracle: fatal: libclntsh.so.8.0:
open failed: No such file or directory"

Cause

The ArcStorm executable ASDBI_ORACLE is failing to find the Oracle library libclntsh.so.8.0 which is located in $ORACLE_HOME/lib.

Solution or Workaround

Add $ORACLE_HOME/lib to the system variable $LD_LIBRARY_PATH.
