Error Message

When trying to start an ArcGIS Desktop application, the following error message is displayed:

"Provide your license server administrator with the following information: "

No further information is provided in the error message dialog box.

Cause

ArcGIS Desktop 9.2 was registered using a 9.1 ESRI Authorization file .ESU9.

Solution or Workaround

1. Contact ESRI Customer Service to acquire the 9.2 ESRI Authorization file.
2. Select Start > Programs > ArcGIS > Desktop Administrator.
3. Select the Register Single Use and Extensions folder and click the Register Now button.
4. Select 'I have received an authorization file from ESRI' and follow the rest of the wizard.
