Unable to select layers to search for custom URL parameter values in Basic Viewer

Description

When attempting to search for custom URL parameter values from a map layer in Basic Viewer, the ‘Select layer’ option under ‘Layer to search for custom url param value’ is disabled.

The Select layer drop-down menu is disabled under the Layer to search for custom url param value section.

Cause

The web map does not contain any feature layer. ‘Layer to search for custom url param value’ does not support performing layer search on non-feature layers.

Solution or Workaround

Add a feature layer to the web map in Map Viewer to resolve the issue.

  1. In ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS, navigate to Content > My Content.
  2. On the My Content page, browse to the web map, click More Options Click the More Options button to display the drop-down list. and select Open in Map Viewer.
  3. On the Contents (dark) toolbar, click Layers > Add layer.
  4. In the Add layer pane, browse to the hosted feature layer and click Add Add a hosted feature layer to the web map..
  5. On the Contents (dark) toolbar, click Save and open > Save.
