Unable to select features in the ArcGIS Collector mobile app

Description

In the ArcGIS Collector mobile app, features such as point and polygon features cannot be selected.

Cause

The following are possible causes:

• The hosted feature service is corrupt.
• The hosted feature service contains labels made with the Maplex Label Engine. Using the Maplex Label Engine may cause issues in map services. Refer to ArcMap: Labeling for more information.

Solution or Workaround

Depending on the cause, use either one of these solutions.

The hosted feature service is corrupt

Republish the hosted feature service in ArcGIS Pro.

1. In ArcGIS Pro, add a connection to ArcGIS Online. Refer to ArcGIS Pro: Add a portal connection for steps to do this.
2. In the Catalog pane, navigate to the Portal tab.
3. Add the hosted feature service to the map by right-clicking the hosted feature service and navigating to Add To New > Map.
4. Publish the layer as a hosted feature service to ArcGIS Online. Refer to ArcGIS Pro: Share a web feature layer using the default configuration for more information.
5. Add the newly created feature service to the map in the ArcGIS Collector app. Refer to ArcGIS Collector: Add editable layers to a map for more information.

The hosted feature service contains labels made with the Maplex Label Engine

Use the Standard Label Engine to add labels to the map instead of the Maplex Label Engine before publishing it as a map service.
