Unable to select a value from an attribute list in Create features in ArcGIS Online Map Viewer

Description

When creating a new feature in ArcGIS Online Map Viewer, the following warning message is returned in the Create features pane:

Value should be one of the listed values.

Expanding the drop-down list and selecting the displayed value (in this example, '0'), returns the following warning message:

Please enter a value
The warning message

Cause

This is expected behavior when an attribute field is assigned domains, but the displayed and selected values do not constitute the domain value assigned. Domains are rules that constrain the value of a field. Thus, only values within the assigned domains are valid for the field.

Solution or Workaround

Select a domain value

To resolve the issue in Map Viewer, select a domain value from the drop-down list.

Create a new feature in ArcGIS Pro

Alternatively, follow the steps provided to create a new feature with a non-domain value for a field with assigned domains in ArcGIS Pro.

  1. In ArcGIS Pro, log in to the ArcGIS Online account hosting the data.
  2. On the top ribbon, click the View tab. In the Windows group, select Catalog Pane.
  3. In the Catalog pane, click the Portal tab.
  4. Navigate to the web map, right-click, and select Add And Open. In this example, the 'DomainTestt' web map is selected.

  1. Turn attribute validation off to override the validation criteria imposed on the field. Refer to ArcGIS Pro: Enforce attribute validation for instructions.
Note: 
Turning the attribute validation off allows a non-domain value to be assigned to a field with assigned domains when a new feature is created in ArcGIS Pro.
  1. Create a new feature. Refer to ArcGIS Pro: Create features for more information.
  2. On the Edit tab, in the Manage Edits group, click Save to save the changes.
