Unable to link multiple SAML groups to a single ArcGIS Enterprise group

Description

Portal for ArcGIS allows linking SAML groups to ArcGIS Enterprise portal groups. However, it is not possible to link multiple SAML or Active Directory groups to a single ArcGIS Enterprise portal group.

Cause

This is by design. Portal for ArcGIS only allows linking one SAML group to an ArcGIS Enterprise portal group.

Solution or Workaround

On the Portal for ArcGIS machine, use the workaround below to resolve the issue.

1. Create a SAML group configured with a specific SAML identity provider. Refer to Portal for ArcGIS: SAML identity providers for more information.
2. Add all the required members to the newly created SAML group.
3. Reference the SAML group to the intended ArcGIS Enterprise portal group. Refer to Portal for ArcGIS: Configure the portal with a SAML identity provider for instructions.
