Unable to input decimal separators in the ArcGIS Survey123 surveys

Description

Unable to input decimal separators such as decimal points or decimal commas in surveys configured in ArcGIS Survey123 Connect. In some cases, inputting decimal commas does not work when responding to surveys on certain Samsung devices.

Cause

  • The Windows regional setting is set to a region that uses a different decimal separator.
  • The Windows decimal symbol setting is set to a different decimal separator.
  • The question type is not set to decimal in ArcGIS Survey123 Connect.
  • Decimal commas are not supported on certain Samsung devices. For more information, refer to ArcGIS Survey123: Form behavior.

Solution or Workaround

'Decimal' is selected in the type column.
Note:
Alternatively, select the esriFieldTypeDouble field type in the survey worksheet of the XLSForm to allow decimal inputs and overwrite the default field type.
