Unable to generate and export reports using ArcGIS Survey123

Description

The ArcGIS Survey123 website allows creating a detailed survey with predefined questions, and provides easy-to-fill answers with embedded audio and images. Users are able to generate reports of individual survey responses, summarize data across several responses, and aggregate results. In some instances, ArcGIS Survey123 fails to generate and export reports, and returns one of the following error messages:

An error occurred while generating report.

Error:
Task failed because all reports failed to run convert to PDF.

Cause

• The start and end tags are in different placements in repeat questions.
• The exporting report has more than one hundred records.

Solution or Workaround

Insert the start and end tags at the correct placements

To generate a report containing a repeat in a table, ensure the starting tag and the ending tag are placed inside or outside the table, in the report template. A report cannot be generated if one of these tags is inside the table while the other is outside. Place the question tags in a nested repeat between the tags for each repeat layer above the intended repeat section. Refer to ArcGIS Survey123: Report templates for more information.

Generate reports in small batches

Export the ArcGIS Survey123 reports in small batches; 50 records at a time.

Note:
If there are large amounts of records in a report, such as many repeats of related images, export the report one at a time depending on the number of related photo records.
