Description
In ArcGIS Pro, attempts to export datasets using the Export XML Workspace Document tool fail, and return the error shown below.
Error:
ERROR 160666: No datasets found to export.
This article provides two workarounds.
Cause
The tool is running on an empty file geodatabase. The Export XML Workspace Document requires existing data such as feature classes.
Solution or Workaround
Export the feature class
- Search and select Export XML Workspace Document (Data Management) from the Geoprocessing pane.
- In the Input Data parameter, select the feature class to export. In this example, SingularFeatureClass is selected.
- Click Run.
Convert the feature classes to a geodatabase
- Search and select Feature Class To Geodatabase (Conversion) from the Geoprocessing pane. To convert one or more feature classes to geodatabase feature classes, refer to ArcGIS Pro: Feature Class To Geodatabase (Conversion).
- Configure the Feature Class To Geodatabase parameters.
- For Input Features, select the feature class. In this example, the shapefile, PointZvalue.shp, is selected.
- Click Run.
- Refresh the output of the geodatabase to view the imported feature class. For more information and instructions, refer to ArcGIS Pro: Refresh a location's content.
- Search and select Export XML Workspace Document (Data Management) from the Geoprocessing pane.
- For Input Data, select the geodatabase. In this example, New File Geodatabase is selected.
- Click Run.
