Unable to edit features in ArcGIS Field Maps

Description

In ArcGIS Field Maps, new features can be added to a map for data collection. However, in some cases, the Edit option is not available, as shown in the images below.

Cause

The Update option of the hosted feature layer is not enabled in ArcGIS Online.

Solution or Workaround

1. Log in to ArcGIS Online with the same credentials used in ArcGIS Field Maps.
2. Click Content > My Content.
3. Browse to and click the hosted feature layer used in the ArcGIS Field Maps web map.
4. On the item details page, click the Settings tab.
5. Scroll down to the Feature Layer (hosted) section and check the Update check box under the What kind of editing is allowed? setting.

6. Click Save.
