PROBLEM
Graphic text drawn on a map document can be converted to an annotation feature class using the Convert Graphics To Features command on the Draw toolbar. However, in some cases, attempting to use this command returns the following errors:
Error: An error occurred when trying to save the object.
Error: Unable to save graphics.
Graphic text cannot be saved as shapefiles outside of geodatabases. The geometry of graphics for conversion must match the geometry of output features. Text elements do not exist in shapefiles.
Specify a geodatabase (.gdb) as the location of the output annotation feature class when converting graphic text. The instructions provided describe the steps to create and add an annotation feature class from graphic text in ArcMap.
