Unable to configure a story with the Editor user type license in ArcGIS StoryMaps

Description

In ArcGIS StoryMaps, members with the Editor user type license are unable to configure a story. The Configure option is not available on the item details page as shown in the image below.

Cause

This is a known limitation. Members with the Editor user type license have insufficient privileges to configure the map story in ArcGIS StoryMaps. The Editor user type can only view and edit data such as feature layers and maps in the story. Refer to BUG-000141230 for more information.

Solution or Workaround

Note:
Only an organization's default administrator or a custom role with administrative privileges can perform the following workflow.

Update the member’s user type with the privilege to configure and update the content in a story.

In ArcGIS Online, change the member’s user type to Creator, GIS Professional Advanced, GIS Professional Standard, or GIS Professional Basic. Refer to ArcGIS Online: Change user types for more information.

Note:
Ensure the member’s role is Administrator or a custom role with administrative privileges. Refer to ArcGIS Online: Change member roles and ArcGIS Online: Configure member roles for more information.
