Unable to align an ArcGIS Parcel Fabric parcel boundary to a parcel line in ArcGIS Pro

Description

In ArcGIS Pro, attempting to align an ArcGIS Parcel Fabric parcel boundary to a parcel line using the Align Parcels tool displays the warning message below and causes the Align button to be unavailable.

Warning:   
For best results, manually create 2 or more links/anchor points before generating links.

Cause

The Align Parcels tool aligns selected parcel polygons to adjacent parcel fabric parcels using links or anchor points between matching corner points. The tool does not directly align a parcel boundary to a specified line or path. Refer to ArcGIS Pro: Parcel alignment workflows for more information.

Solution or Workaround

Use the Align Features tool

1. Open the project in ArcGIS Pro.
2. Set the parcel record containing the parcels as the active record.
3. Use the Align Features tool to align the parcel line with the parcel boundary. Refer to Steps 2 through 10 in ArcGIS Pro: Align features to a traced line for instructions.

Note:
Ensure the buffer distance specified in Tolerance outlines an alignment area covering both the target parcel boundary and parcel line, as alignment is performed only within the specified buffer distance.

Use the Reshape tool

1. Open the project in ArcGIS Pro.
2. Set the parcel record containing the parcels as the active record.
3. On the Quality tab, in the Tools group, click Reshape.

4. Use the Reshape tool to reshape the parcel boundary using the parcel line. Refer to ArcGIS Blog: Overview of the ArcGIS Pro Reshape editing tool for more information.

Note:
Ensure the parcel lines and parcel polygons to be reshaped are selected in the Reshape tool, as only the selected features are reshaped.
