PROBLEM
Mobile workers use ArcGIS Field Maps to collect data and perform inspections on the field. In some instances, the Add Point button is disabled for an ArcGIS Enterprise feature service when the cross-hairs are moved beyond the location of the user in ArcGIS Field Maps, as depicted in the images below.
The ‘Apply default to features with z-values’ check box is unchecked. When the feature layer is z-aware and does not have a default z-value configured, point features cannot be manually added when the map cross-hairs are moved beyond the current location as the z-value is not generated. However, the point feature can be added within the current location of the user as the GPS-derived location provides the z-value.
Check the 'Apply default to features with z-values' check box in ArcGIS Server. Refer to ArcGIS Server: Configure default z-values for editable feature services for further instructions.
The image below shows the Add Point button enabled when the map cross-hairs are beyond the location of the user in ArcGIS Field Maps.
