Description

In ArcGIS Enterprise portal, adding members based on existing Active Directory or LDAP users is important for centralized user management and streamlined access control. This approach enhances security, reduces administrative overhead, and ensures consistency in user authentication across systems.

However, there are instances when the option to ‘Add members based on existing Active Directory or LDAP users’ is disabled.

The ‘Add members based on existing Active Directory or LDAP users’ option is disabled in ArcGIS Enterprise portal.

Cause

In Portal Administrator Directory, the isPasswordEncrypted property is set to 'true' in either one or both of the Update Identity Store configuration text boxes.

Solution or Workaround

  1. Sign in to the Portal Administrator Directory as an administrator.
  2. Click Security > Config > Update Identity Store.
  3. Set the isPasswordEncrypted property to 'false' where applicable, before clicking Update Configuration.
